The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shivajinavar, Pune is going to have a Meteorological Exhibition on Wednesday, 28th February 2024.


This Exhibition is going to be held on the occasion of National Science Day and as a part of 150 year celebration of the India Meteorological Department which started in the year 1875 In January 2025, It will complete a year.


The events for the 150-year anniversary started on 15th January 2024 and will continue till 15th January 2025. Therefore the Department is going to have various events throughout the year to celebrate.

Every student is welcome to visit the department and get immense knowledge in this field from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.


Dr Sudhir Kumar Scientist at the India Meteorological Department, Pune said, ” There will also be a film show about Expedition to Antarctica. The students can moreover visit the model observatory. National Science Day has been celebrated since 1987 and since then we have been organizing exhibitions for students. The students who will visit the exhibition will come to know about the recent updates, atmospheric Science, current instruments used to monitor and observe the weather. Instruments like Aviation are updated with time and the students will see the updated versions of many such instruments. Moreover, activities on how to predict weather, applications of climate and how IMD is contributing in different sectors will also be discussed.”


The weather enthusiasts and all students are urged to visit this Exhibition where tremendous knowledge will be shared by students and professors of IMD.
