The Indian Railways has achieved a historic milestone by entering the ‘Limca Book of Records’ for hosting the largest public-service event across multiple venues. On February 26, 2024, the event saw an impressive gathering of 40,19,516 people at 2,140 locations, as reported by News Agency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the event, which marked the inauguration of road overpasses and underpasses and the laying of foundation stones for new railway stations. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across the country.

Ashwini Vaishnaw has resumed his role as the Minister of Railways for the second time under Modi 3.0. He also holds the positions of Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology. Vaishnaw emphasized the railways’ importance as a crucial mode of transport for the common man and a key component of the nation’s economic infrastructure.

Upon his arrival at the ministry, Vaishnaw was warmly welcomed by the staff with flowers. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, highlighting the Prime Minister’s deep emotional connection with the railways. During his interaction with reporters, Vaishnaw pointed out the significant reforms and achievements in the railway sector under Modi’s leadership over the past decade. He reiterated his commitment to further modernizing and expanding India’s railway network to boost national connectivity and economic growth.
