Indian Security Guard Wins ₹59 Crore in UAE Lucky Draw
A security guard in the UAE, Ashik Patinharath, has won a massive lucky draw prize of 25 million dirhams (around ₹59 crore). Originally from Kerala, 38-year-old Ashik has been living in the UAE for 19 years while his family stays in India.
For the past 10 years, Ashik regularly bought lucky draw tickets but never won. Despite this, he never gave up hope. His persistence finally paid off when he won the big ticket raffle.
“I was in shock when I got the call. My heart started beating fast. I wasn’t even watching the live draw. After 10 years, I finally won a big prize. You can’t imagine my happiness,” Ashik said.
When asked about his plans, Ashik said his first priority is to support his family. He also plans to continue buying tickets and encourages others to try their luck.
Ashik wasn’t the only Indian to win. Shanavas Kannoth Hamza, a 58-year-old businessman from Chennai, won 2.5 lakh dirhams (around ₹60 lakh) in the same lucky draw.
Shanavas has been buying tickets with a close friend since 2017. “I was in a meeting when my phone kept ringing. I thought it was spam, but it was the show host, Richard,” he said.
Shanavas plans to invest his winnings in his business and encourages others to keep trying their luck.
