On Thursday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled a video showcasing the remarkable Sabarmati bullet train terminal in Ahmedabad, India. The video, shared by the minister, provides a mesmerizing glimpse into the awe-inspiring architectural masterpiece.
The video presented a terminal that flawlessly combines contemporary architecture with the rich cultural heritage of India. This exceptional amalgamation is clearly visible in the design features, which exude a futuristic vibe while also evoking the essence of traditional Indian motifs.
The terminal offers advanced features that are specifically designed to ensure passengers have a pleasant and hassle-free travel experience. Additionally, the 508 km double-line track connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad will greatly reduce travel time to a mere 2.07 hours, thanks to its impressive maximum design speed of 350 km per hour.
According to the government’s projection, the project cost of Rs 1,08,000 crore will be funded by a Japanese soft loan at an impressive interest rate of 0.1 per cent, with a repayment period of 50 years, including a grace period of 15 years. This loan covers 81 per cent of the total project cost.
The project was revealed in 2017 during a ceremony graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan. It is being executed under the technical and functional guidance of Shinkansen Technology, renowned for its reliability and safety, with a proven track record spanning over 50 years. Presently, the project is in progress, and a substantial portion has already been finished. The initial phase of the project is anticipated to be operational by 2026, while the entire project is scheduled to be completed by 2028.
