IRCTC Website and App Crashes For Third Time This Month, Disrupting Tatkal Ticket Bookings
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and app suffered another outage on December 31, causing widespread disruption for passengers attempting to book train tickets. This is the third time this month that the IRCTC platform has crashed, with all three incidents occurring around 9:50 am, just 10 minutes before tatkal ticket bookings open.
Users attempting to access the IRCTC website were greeted with a message stating that booking and cancellation services would be unavailable for the next hour. The message also provided customer care numbers and an email address for users to contact in case of cancellations or other issues.
The outage has caused frustration among users, who took to social media to express their disappointment. With the IRCTC platform unavailable, users may miss out on booking tatkal tickets during the limited window available.
It is worth noting that the IRCTC website and app have been experiencing technical issues frequently, with this being the third outage this month. The repeated disruptions have raised concerns about the reliability and efficiency of the IRCTC platform, which is used by millions of passengers to book train tickets every day.
The IRCTC website and app crash has sparked outrage among users on X (formerly Twitter), with many expressing their frustration and tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, BJP, and IRCTC. Users alleged that the crash is a reflection of the failure of Digital India, with one user saying, “Digital India is also crashing with IRCTC”.
Many users took to X to voice their discontent, with some accusing IRCTC of scams and others questioning the reliability of the website and app. One user tweeted, “The IRCTC website constantly fails around 10 a.m., and when you access it again, all Tatkal tickets are purchased, but only premium tickets with double pricing are available. This is a blatant scam” .
