Indian-origin entrepreneur Jagdeep Singh has emerged as the highest-paid professional globally. Singh’s name and profile have gone viral for his extraordinary salary. His daily earnings stand at ₹48 crore, amounting to ₹17,500 crore annually.  

In comparison, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, another high-paid Indian-origin CEO, earns ₹1663 crore annually as of April 2023. Including perks, his yearly compensation totals ₹1854 crore, or roughly ₹5 crore per day.  

Jagdeep Singh is the founder of QuantumScape, established in 2010. The company focuses on next-generation solid-state batteries, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing charging time for electric vehicles (EVs). Singh’s leadership has been termed revolutionary in the EV sector. Investors in QuantumScape include Volkswagen and Bill Gates.

Before founding QuantumScape, Singh held key roles in various companies for over a decade. He holds a B.Tech from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of California.  

As per a news report, Singh’s pay package includes stock options worth ₹19,000 crore ($2.3 billion). However, on February 16, 2024, he stepped down as QuantumScape’s CEO, handing over the reins to Shiv Shivram.  

Singh is now leading a “stealth startup” focused on innovative technologies, aiming for future success.
