Kalakar Katta to come up in Pimple Saudagar

In memory of legendary singer, Late Lata Mangeshkar, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is coming up with Kalakar Katta in Pimple Saudagar’s Linear Garden. The ‘Kalakar Katta’ in the linear garden is an open art stage, similar to what foreign countries have. At Kalakar Katta, artists can perform any art form.

Local corporator Shatrughan Kate wrote to Commissioner Rajesh Patil, PCMC recently about naming the Kalakar Katta as Late Lata Mangeshkar Kalakar Katta. 

Giving details about the place, Shatrughna Kate said, “Bharatratna Late Lata Mangeshkar is known as the Nightingale of India. She has inspired many lives. I have also suggested constructing a mural of Lata Didi in the premises of the garden as a tribute to her. This Katta will definitely provide a platform for emerging as well as established artists to perform.”
