Kantara: Chapter 1 Hindi Version Roars Onto OTT – Prime Video Drops the Long-Awaited Dub
Indian cinema fans have another reason to celebrate as Kantara: Chapter 1—Rishab Shetty’s monumental folk-action saga—has finally arrived on OTT in Hindi. After storming global box offices and collecting more than ₹800 crore, the film is ready to captivate an even broader audience with its much-awaited Hindi release. The movie first premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 31, 2025, in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, but the Hindi version was intentionally withheld for a later date, leaving a wave of anticipation among viewers.
Prime Video India has now officially ended that wait. The platform confirmed the release by unveiling a fresh poster on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Kantara’s legendary roar echoes, now in Hindi #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, Watch Now.” The announcement quickly ignited excitement across social media, as fans prepared to revisit the epic or experience it for the first time in Hindi.
Set against the mystical backdrop of coastal Karnataka, Kantara: Chapter 1 journeys back to the fourth-century Kadamba dynasty to explore the ancient origins of Daiva worship in the Tulunadu region. At the center of the narrative is Rishab Shetty’s intense performance as Berme, a divine guardian of the sacred Kantara forest and the tribal communities that worship him.
The film dives deep into the spiritual, cultural, and political friction between an authoritative royal lineage seeking dominance and indigenous tribes fiercely committed to their devotion. This dynamic lays the groundwork for a powerful and immersive story rooted in mythology and tradition.
Adding strength to the narrative are standout performances from Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram, while supporting actors Rakesh Poojari, Hariprashanth MG, Deepak Rai Panaje, Shaneel Gautham, and Naveen Bondel enhance the authenticity of the world of Kantara.
Rich visuals, gripping drama, and atmospheric storytelling make Kantara: Chapter 1 a worthy expansion of the mystical universe introduced in the 2022 hit Kantara. Released in theatres on 2 October, the film has continued its triumphant box office run. With over ₹800 crore earned globally and its Indian collection nearing the ₹600 crore net milestone—as reported by Sacnilk—Kantara: Chapter 1 stands tall among the decade’s biggest Indian cinematic successes.
