Pune: Newly Married 19-Year-Old Woman Dies After Jumping From Building, Suicide Note Mentions Family Pressure
Pune, November 28, 2025: A 19-year-old woman, married only a year ago, died after jumping from a five-storey building in Pune’s Budhwar Peth area on Thursday evening. Police officials reported that the incident occurred around 6:40 pm.
According to investigators, the woman had married 23-year-old Bhagwan Gopal Ghare, a daily wage labourer from Jamkhed. After their wedding, she began living with her husband and in-laws, who run a small canteen in the locality.
The woman was originally from Ahilyanagar and had been staying in Pune since her marriage. A handwritten note was recovered from her home, in which she mentioned that she was unable to cope with family expectations and work-related pressure in her marital household.
Police officials stated that the woman jumped directly onto the road and died instantly. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination. A case of accidental death has been registered, and further inquiry is in progress. No FIR has been filed yet as the investigation continues.
