“Kareena Kapoor’s Reaction to ‘Shahid’ Mention Goes Viral, But There’s a Twist – Watch Video”
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s reaction to the mention of ‘Shahid’ at a recent event has taken the internet by storm. However, there’s more to the story than meets the eye. While many might think the reference was to her ex-boyfriend, Shahid Kapoor, it turns out the conversation was actually about Hansal Mehta’s critically acclaimed film Shahid.
The incident occurred during the trailer launch of Kareena’s upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders, where she not only stars but also serves as co-producer. This marks her first collaboration with director Hansal Mehta. During the event, a journalist praised Mehta for his work on the 2010 film Shahid, which starred Rajkummar Rao and was based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi.
The reporter said, “Aapka track record dekha hai humne, aapne Shahid jaisi film banayi hai jo National Award winning film hai. Ye jo murder mystery hai (Buckingham Murders), isme bhi bahut sensitive issue jhuda hua hai — Isiliye maine Shahid ka zikr kiya. Toh inn dono ko script and director ke level pe, kitna difficult tha?”
Kareena’s facial expression, captured on video, quickly went viral, sparking curiosity and amusement online. But the twist was revealed when it was clarified that the mention of ‘Shahid’ was about the film, not her past relationship.
For context, Shahid was released in 2010 and starred Rajkummar Rao as Shahid Azmi. The film was highly praised, winning two National Awards – Best Actor for Rao and Best Director for Mehta.
As for The Buckingham Murders, it’s set to release this month. The film, which had its premiere last year at the MAMI Film Festival, features Kareena in the lead role alongside several international actors, and it has already garnered positive feedback.
