In a remote area of Kodagu district, Karnataka, a makeshift signboard has been erected to warn travellers of a Google Maps mistake. The sign boldly states, “Google is wrong. This road does not go to Club Mahindra,” indicating that Google’s navigation may lead travellers astray.

Frustrated with lost travellers seeking directions after being misled by Google Maps, locals took matters into their own hands by putting up the warning sign.

The image of the signboard gained attention after being shared online, sparking amused comments from viewers. Some individuals pointed fingers at Google, criticizing the lack of options for users to correct locations.

An X user commented, “Once we climb up the mountains, Google always gets it wrong. Once I remember how we travelled from Kukke Subramanya to Madikeri via sullia. Google made us take a random right in which we traveled for 80+ km realizing we are on wrong and got correct route by local person”

Recently, a man in Tamil Nadu found himself stuck in an unexpected location after following directions from Google Maps, emphasizing the importance of double-checking routes and using additional sources of information when travelling.

This incident highlights the occasional inaccuracies of even widely used navigation tools like Google Maps, reminding travellers to exercise caution and rely on local knowledge when navigating unfamiliar areas
