Kasba By-poll : Pune police identifies nine critical polling stations in Kasba constituency
Pune : Pune city police have identified nine polling stations as critical in the Kasba constituency. The by-poll elections are scheduled for Sunday, February 26. Pune police officials during the press conference informed about various steps taken for smooth functioning of the election process.
Critical Polling stations have been identified as Rajmata Jijabai Shala (Room 3) Kasba Peth, Abdul Karim Hussain Attar Urdu School Kasba Peth, Rajmata Jijabai Shala (Room 6) Kasba Peth, Seth Nathubai Hukumchand Gujrati Boys Shala (Room No 1 Ground Floor) Budhwar Peth, Seth Nathubai Hukumchand Gujrati Boys Shala (Room No 2 Ground Floor) Budhwar Peth, Pune Municipal School No 34 Acharya Vinoba Bhave Vidya Mandir, Kasba Peth, Sundarabai Rathi Seva Sadan Sadashiv Peth, Gopal Highschool Sadashiv Peth and Adarsh Vidyalaya Pre Primary School, Shukrawar Peth Pune.
Commissioner Ritesh Kumar told, Our surveillance teams will be deployed 24 X 7 but special teams of Paramilitary forces will be deployed at these sensitive booths to monitor the situation during polling day.
Ritesh Kumar addressing the media said that 1000 city police personnel, 150 police officers, will be deployed during the by-poll election in Kasba constituency. As a prohibitory actions police have taken action against 2789 persons. Till date police have seized 2 firearms and collected 117 licensed firearms to avoid untoward incidents. In addition to that police have also seized Rs 32,18,500 cash from various locations in the city and handed it over to the Income Tax Department.
