Khadakwasala released 856 cusecs water at midnight

Pune: Khadakwasla dam released 856 cusecs of water at midnight in the Mutha river on Monday. It will be the first time in the ongoing monsoon season that water will be released from the dam.

“The Khadakwasla Dam is filled upto

83%. Around midnight 856 cusecs water wss released and looking at the rain situation we will decide whether to release more water or not. Mostly we maintain 90% of the water level in the dam,” said Vijay Patil, executive engineer, Khadakwasla Irrigation Division, Pune. 

The irrigation department has advised people living near river beds to remain careful.

Heavy rains to continue till July 14 ; informs IMD

As per prediction from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, Cloud cover will continue to remain over the Pune district. In Pune, city monsoon is vigorous and will continue till July 14th in the current form only.

IMD has advised citizens to remain careful against waterlogging and potholes on the roads.
