A shocking incident has come to light in Kolhapur, where a youth sustained severe injuries to his eyes due to the use of a laser during a Ganesh procession in Uchgaon. The intense rays of the laser caused the young man’s eyes to bleed, and a police constable on duty also suffered swelling in one of his eyes.

The grand and festive arrival of Lord Ganesha was celebrated in Kolhapur with many groups welcoming the deity to the beats of DJs. However, a disturbing event occurred in Uchgaon, where a local Ganesh Mandal used HD lights and lasers during the procession. The intense brightness from these lights and lasers caused serious harm to the youth’s eyes, leading to bleeding. Additionally, a police constable stationed there, Yuvraj Patil, also experienced swelling and redness in his eye.

Both the injured youth and the police officer were rushed to a clinic in Shastrinagar. The doctor’s diagnosis confirmed that the laser’s rays had caused internal damage to the young man’s eye, leading to hemorrhaging. Constable Patil’s eye was red and swollen as well, requiring immediate treatment. Despite prior warnings to avoid using laser lights during processions, some Mandals disregarded the instructions, leading to this unfortunate incident.
