Kunal Kamra Takes a Jab at Ola After Allegations of Bouncers at Service Centers
Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has raised concerns about Ola and its founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, following allegations from users regarding the presence of bouncers at Ola service centers. This unusual claim surfaced after X user RJ Kashyap shared an experience online, stating, “Ola has now recruited about 5-6 bouncers at every service centre… I just visited my nearby Ola service centre and saw bouncers arguing with customers, including female customers.” Kamra reacted to this post by calling for journalists to fact-check the situation, adding sarcastically, “Sales team for sales and bouncers for after-sales.”
The situation escalated when another user, Amol Choudhary, shared his troubling encounter at the Ola Experience Centre in Virar, Mumbai. He claimed that despite his scheduled service appointment, no repairs were being conducted, and bouncers armed with weapons were responding to customer queries. Kamra tagged Aggarwal in his response, mockingly saying, “Hey @bhash, you’ve sold such an innovative Indian product that you’ve had to hire bouncers to protect the staff…”
This isn’t the first time Kamra has criticized Ola. Last week, he took a jab at the company’s lack of transparency regarding customer complaints, pointing out that there had been no clear plan to resolve issues or offer refunds. Kamra’s ongoing criticism of Ola stems from his earlier comments on the company’s gigafactory, where he posted a photo of numerous unserviced Ola Electric scooters. This led to a heated exchange with Aggarwal, who dismissed Kamra’s post as “paid” and called him a “failed stand-up comic,” while maintaining that Ola Electric was expanding its service network to manage backlogs.
The public spat even drew a humorous response from businessman Harsh Goenka, who shared a playful tweet: “If I have to travel short distances, say from one ‘kamra’ to another, I use my Ola,” accompanied by a picture of him riding an Ola e-scooter.
