Commuters in Pune are demanding that the administration must improve cleanliness and maintenance as the Metro stations are becoming more and more filthy and are not regularly cleaned.

According to a metro commuter, the Shivajinagar underground station’s toilet taps are broken. The toilet was also incredibly dirty. The commuter brought up the issue at the station manager’s office and used an online system to file a complaint. Nevertheless, no repairs were made after a few days.

The commuter went on to say that daily station maintenance and cleaning should be given top priority by the relevant authorities. These are not major errors, but they also can’t be avoided easily. People anticipate having access to high quality facilities as part of their Metro experience, and it is the administration’s duty to uphold these expectations.

Another Metro passenger complained about improper cleaning at the Pimpri station. The authorities must prioritize providing amenities for commuters in addition to timely trip operations.

A month after the station’s inauguration, a commuter from Civil Court claimed to have noticed leaks on the roof. Here, the escalators are not maintained, so they are not in operation.

According to MahaMetro, companies have been designated to clean stations every day. Failing to follow the guidelines will lead to strict action against the agencies.
