Pune: A leopard cub while trying to catch his prey fell inside a deep well in Nagapur village in Ambegaon Taluka.
As per information, the cub was rescued after the forest department laid a cage inside the well.
There is Pawar Mala in the south of Nagapur village. A farm is there nearby. A farmer came to the well to start the electric pump at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25 when he heard a loud noise coming from the well. When he looked into the well, a leopard cub was there. The farmer informed Nagapur Village Sarpanch & Forest Department about the incident. Under the guidance of the Forest Range Officer, Forest Divisional Officer, Forest Guard and rescue team members, a cage was suspended in the well and lifted the cub safely.
The caught leopard cub is approximately one year old and it will be kept under the supervision of a doctor in the forest park in Avasari valley and will be released again in the same place in some time.
