On 5th February, all operations related to license issuing, etc. were closed at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Pune due to modifications being made in the Sarathi 4.0 system through National Informatics Centre (NIC).

As per further information from Pune RTO, due to the ongoing work of technical upgrades in Sarathi 4.0 system through National Informatics Centre, Pune (NIC), all licensing operations in the office will remain closed at Regional Transport Office, Pune on 5.2.2024.

Hence, all candidates who have taken license-related appointments on 5.2.2024 are requested to kindly reschedule their appointment anytime during the upcoming office days as per their convenience.

Earlier, on 3rd February, Pune residents faced challenges with license services on Thursday and Friday due to the nationwide breakdown of the Regional Transport Offices’ (RTOs) online system –

A breakdown occurred in the National Informatics Centre’s (NIC) online system, which runs the Sarathi driving license application system. Throughout India, the NIC server went down on Thursday morning.

Operations at the Pune RTO, including procedures like issuing driving licenses (including learner’s licenses), renewing licenses, changing license addresses, removing fake licenses, etc came to an abrupt stop after the online system went down.
