Heavy traffic was seen today in Pune Camp area by motorists driving from Kondhwa (Lulla Nagar) to Golibar Maidan. Traffic was also observed near Wanowrie Cantonment area near Wanowrie Police Bazar Police chowky due to road repair work.

The traffic police had issued an Advisory regarding the road diversion amid the political event.

On Thursday, 18 April 2024, from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, several roads will be closed, as candidates from various parties, including Mahavikas Aghadi and Mahayuti, file their nomination papers for the Baramati, Shirur, and Pune Lok Sabha seats.
This event took place at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office and Pune Collector’s Office.
In anticipation of the gathering strength of political contenders, the Pune Traffic Police have implemented traffic changes around these key locations.

Bundgarden Road, stretching from Dorabjee crossing to Residency Club crossing, along with Manikji Mehta Road from Sadhu Vaswani road crossing to Kahun Road crossing, will be blocked off.
Additionally, Col. Tarapore Road, from Garrison Engineer crossing to Iskcon, will also be inaccessible during this period. Notably, the IN and OUT gates of the Club will remain closed until 3:00 pm, necessitating alternative arrangements for members.

To accommodate Poona Club members, the IN Gate on Col. Tarapore Road, opposite Dastur School, will serve as both an ENTRY and EXIT point. Meanwhile, the Turnstile gate near the health club will remain open for walkers, joggers, and members.
With these temporary traffic adjustments, authorities aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the political nomination process while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
