An explosion at a firecracker factory on Tuesday morning in the Harda district of Madhya Pradesh’s Bairagarh village claimed at least six lives and injured about fifty-nine people.

The injured have been admitted to the hospital, and a few are critical, the Harda District Magistrate said.

In response to the Betul Collector’s orders, the Chief Medical and Health Officer has dispatched a medical team comprising two doctors and other staff members, along with four 108 ambulances to Harda.

For the fire incident, fifteen personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were dispatched from the Betul district to Harda. They were accompanied by four home guards, one police constable, one head inspector, a vehicle driver, three fire extinguishers, five stretchers, one compressor machine, fifteen gumboots, fifteen helmets, and four full-body harnesses.

The ambulances are being brought in by SDRF, and the rescue operation is underway.
