Shocking !!! First-year student of management college commits suicide ; Hinjawadi police registers FIR

On October 3, 2023, a 25-year-old student, was discovered dead at Delta Hostel for Girls, International Institute of Management Studies (IIMS) College. It was allegedly due to her boyfriend’s constant harassment. On Sunday, February 4, the victim’s father lodged a complaint with the Hinjewadi Police Station.

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, the accused in this case is a Bihar native named Ashwani Bharadwaj. The accused and the victim have been dating for the past three to four years. However, their relationship became tumultuous, with incidents of physically abusing and degrading the victim even in front of her friends by the accused. Hence, the victim committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in her hostel room. So, the victim’s father registered an FIR with the Hinjawadi Police.

The accused Ashwani Bharadwaj has been booked by the Hinjawadi Police under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the matter is going on.
