Pune : Parge Nagar residents irked over illegal activities in area ; demand stern action from Kondhwa police
Several residential societies have requested the Kondhwa Police, via letter, to take immediate action against several kinds of illegal & disruptive activities happening in Parge Nagar.
As per information from Parge Nagar residents, ‘Over the past few months, we have noticed a rise in illegal and disruptive activities that are causing distress and posing serious safety concerns for the residents of Parge Nagar. First and foremost, there have been incidents of individuals from other areas engaging in illegal activities. They come to our area to make videos (reels), celebrate birthday parties with fireworks, and consume alcohol openly, leading to disturbances and an overall sense of insecurity among the residents. Furthermore, there have been reports of eve teasing and incidents that compromise the safety of women in the area, which is extremely distressing and unacceptable.’
Also, ‘In addition, there are groups of young boys who have been engaging in dangerous and reckless driving. They have been seen driving in a highly unsafe manner, putting both themselves and others at risk. Moreover, these groups have been involved in altercations and physical confrontations with the residents as well as security guards leading to an escalation in tension and causing significant distress to the residents.’
Hence, the Parge Nagar residents have urged Kondhwa Police to take immediate action to address these issues on priority. They seek the Kondhwa Police’s intervention to investigate and address the illegal activities, ensure the safety of women in the area, and curb the dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour of these groups.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sameer Punjabi, Chairman, Alcon Royce, Parge Nagar said, “There are several traffic issues, illegal activities, safety problems etc in Parge Nagar. Hence, we submitted the request letter to Kondhwa Police yesterday evening ( February 5).
