Maha Kumbh 2025 Breaks Record: Over 50 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip in Prayagraj
Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh 2025 has etched its name in history, witnessing an unprecedented turnout of over 50 crore devotees as of February 14.
The grand spiritual event, which began on January 13, continues to attract pilgrims from across the globe, with the number exceeding the initial estimate of 45 crore. The sacred gathering will conclude on February 26, coinciding with Mahashivratri.
According to official reports, nearly 8.54 million devotees took a holy dip today, including over 500,000 Kalpavasis and 6.42 million pilgrims. The confluence of faith at the Triveni Sangam saw people from all walks of life participating in the ritual. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, along with his family, also took part in the sacred dip and prayed for the peace and prosperity of Tripura.
Authorities now anticipate the total number of participants to reach 55 crore by the end of the event.
The surge in attendance has also caused a complete booking of trains and flights to Prayagraj for the upcoming three weeks.
With Mahashivratri and Maghi Purnima yet to come, the Maha Kumbh 2025 is expected to witness even more devotees in the days ahead, reinforcing its status as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering.
