The Coordination Committee for State Competitive Examinations recently voiced apprehensions to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar regarding the scheduling of two vital examinations: the Social Welfare Department Exam 2023 and the State Services Pre-Exam 2024. Citing manpower constraints due to the ongoing General elections, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) labeled the postponement as ‘temporary’.

This postponement has left numerous candidates, who have dedicated years to preparing for these exams, feeling uncertain about their future. Mahesh Gharbude, the chairman of the Coordination Committee, confirmed their meeting with Ajit Pawar to address the issue, although Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s absence posed challenges. Gharbude stressed the urgency of the matter, underlining the necessity for clarity on exam dates and the release of pending results.

He reiterated the committee’s dedication to ensuring a seamless recruitment process once the election-related workload diminishes. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reassured the committee that the recruitment process would be expedited post-elections. However, the absence of a concrete timeline for the exams has left candidates disheartened and anxious.

Therefore, while the postponement may be necessary given the current circumstances, it is imperative for authorities to provide clarity and reassurance to candidates eagerly awaiting these exams.
