Chinchwad: After days of internal discussions and alliance conflicts, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar has officially declared Rahul Kalate as its candidate for the Chinchwad constituency. The announcement by NCP state president Jayant Patil comes as a relief for the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, which had been struggling with seat-sharing disagreements in the region.

Kalate, a former Shiv Sena corporator, had shown a strong interest in running for the Chinchwad seat under the NCP (Sharad Pawar) banner. He received significant backing from Shirur MP Dr. Amol Kolhe, who advocated for his candidacy within the party. With only two days left for filing nominations, Kalate’s name was officially confirmed after extensive deliberations in Mumbai.

Attention now turns to the campaign trail, as Kalate faces potential challenges, including a possible contest from Moreshwar Bhondve, who recently shifted from NCP (Ajit Pawar) to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) and may enter the race for Chinchwad as well.
