Maharashtra SSC Exams Begin Tomorrow; Over 16 Lakh Students To Appear
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has commenced the Class 12 (HSC) board examinations across the state. A total of 15.05 lakh students have registered for the exams, including 8.10 lakh boys, 6.94 lakh girls, and 37 transgender students.
Early Exams for Faster Results
HSC Board Chairman Sharad Gosavi stated that the exams are being held 10 days earlier than last year, allowing results to be declared by May 15. Despite initial objections, the board believes the decision will benefit students.
Security Measures and Surveillance
To prevent malpractice, supervisors at 818 out of 3,376 exam centres have been replaced. Additionally, drone cameras will monitor sensitive centres. Strict action will be taken against those caught engaging in unfair means, with cognisable and non-bailable charges applicable.
Extended Exam Duration
To support students, the board has granted an additional 10 minutes per paper before the start of the exam.
Stream-wise Student Enrolment:
- Science: 7,68,967 students
- Arts: 3,80,410 students
- Commerce: 3,19,439 students
With stringent measures in place, the board aims to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
