India’s GST collections for July 2025 clocked in at a robust ₹1.96 lakh crore, marking a 7% increase over July 2024. The steady growth underscores strong economic momentum and continued improvement in tax compliance nationwide.

Maharashtra led the pack once again, contributing ₹30,590 crore — over 21% of the national total. Karnataka followed with ₹13,967 crore, while Gujarat and Tamil Nadu were close behind with ₹11,358 crore and ₹11,296 crore respectively.

Top 10 States by GST Collection – July 2025 (₹ crore):

  1. Maharashtra – 30,590
  2. Karnataka – 13,967
  3. Gujarat – 11,358
  4. Tamil Nadu – 11,296
  5. Haryana – 10,149
  6. Uttar Pradesh – 9,760
  7. Delhi – 6,057
  8. West Bengal – 5,895
  9. Telangana – 5,417
  10. Odisha – 4,991

Southern states collectively contributed over ₹37,000 crore, with Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala all ranking among the top 20.

Meanwhile, the Northeastern states—though contributing smaller amounts—continued showing steady year-on-year gains. States like Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Tripura reported modest but consistent growth, signaling expanding tax coverage.

On the other hand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh saw minor dips in their monthly GST numbers, compared to last year.

This solid performance in July 2025 is a positive sign ahead of the upcoming festive season, reinforcing optimism around India’s economic resilience and expanding tax base.
