Jalgaon: A major accident was reported early this morning near Bodwad railway station in Jalgaon district, when a speeding truck crashed into the Mumbai-Amravati Express around 4 AM. Fortunately, a major disaster was averted as the train was moving at a slow speed.

According to initial reports, the truck entered the railway tracks through an old railway crossing and rammed into the train.
The collision led to a temporary disruption of rail services, with both up and down routes blocked, affecting several trains.
There were no casualties, bringing relief to passengers. However, the impact caused significant damage to some train coaches and the truck. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, prompting police and railway officials to launch a search operation. Authorities are investigating the ownership of the truck and why it took an unauthorized route onto the tracks.
The accident disrupted train movement on the Mumbai-Howrah route from 4 AM, leading to delays and passenger inconvenience. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police teams rushed to the spot, working to clear the debris and restore normal rail services.
The railway department has assured passengers that temporary arrangements have been made, and disaster management teams are actively working to resume train operations as soon as possible.
