The Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Class 10 has begun from today onwards till March 26. A total of 16,09,445 students have registered for this year’s examination. The total number of students has surpassed last year’s students with 32,189 more students appearing for the examination.

The reason behind the rise of students appearing for examinations is said to be increased because of the Right To Education Act (RTE) under which the students admitted in private schools by the state government are provided with free education up to class 8. Following this, the students are admitted to State Board School from class 9.

This year a total of 16 lakh, 9 thousand 445 students have registered for the examination whereas last year 15 lakh, 77 thousand, 256 students had registered for the examination. Therefore comparatively, the security has also been increased with the increase in the number of enrollments.

According to Sharad Govind, President Of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education (MSBSHSE), “The State Board Department has started helpline numbers for students appearing for the examination. These numbers are; 020-25705271 and 020-25705272.”

Moreover, the Assistant Supervisor as a sitting team will be working at the testing centre to protect the confidentiality of the answer sheet and must keep its GPS on. Additionally, the district flying squad has also been appointed along with the State Board Bahari team.
