A disagreement between a customer and a tailor at Neha Sant Tailing in Dharashiv has led to a legal confrontation. Swati Prashant Kasture, dissatisfied with the service, paid an advance of Rs. 3000 in January 2023 for two blouses, which were never delivered on time. Despite several attempts to contact Neha Sant through various channels, Swati received no response, prompting her to approach consumer forums.

After numerous notices went unanswered, Swati lodged a formal complaint on April 28, 2023, seeking compensation for the delay and lack of communication. The consumer forum ruled in her favor, ordering Neha Sant to pay a penalty of Rs. 10,000 along with Rs. 5000 towards legal expenses to Swati. This verdict came after the tailor failed to appear for hearings despite being summoned multiple times.

The incident highlights the significance of timely service and customer satisfaction in retail businesses. Consumer forums play a crucial role in resolving such disputes, ensuring justice for aggrieved customers. Swati’s case serves as a reminder to businesses to adhere to agreed timelines and maintain transparent communication with clients to avoid legal repercussions.

As the matter concludes with a judicial decision favoring the customer, it underscores the enforcement of consumer rights in such commercial interactions.
