Maharashtra to go under lockdown from April 14, 8 pm onwards for fifteen days

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on April 13, 2021 announced that the state needs some restrictions on our movements to curb the spread of Covid19. 


In his Facebook live he informed that he shall write to the prime minister Narendra Modi to allow the Air Force to transport oxygen to the state which will reduce the travel time of oxygen to the medical facilities.

The disaster management act, 2005 finds it expedient to enforce the following measures throughout the state from 8 pm on April 14, 2021 to 7 am on May 1, 2021 to the break the chain of transmission.

Imposition of Section 144 and Night Curfew :

  1. Section 144 to be imposed in the state.
  2. No one to move in public areas without valid reasons.
  3. All establishments, public places, activities, services shall remain closed.
  4. Services and activities in the essential category below are exempted and their movements and operations are to be unrestricted.
    Services and activities mentioned in the exceptions category herein below are exempted from 7 am to 8 pm on working days.
  5. Decision regarding inclusion of domestic help, drivers, attendants to work in exceptions category be taken by the local authorities on local conditions.
  6. Essential category includes :
    Hospitals, diagnostic centers, clinics, vaccinations, medical insurance offices, pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, other medical and health services, including supporting manufacturing and distribution units along with dealers, transport and supply chain. Veterinary services / animal care shelters and pet food shops. Groceries, vegetables shops, fruit vendors, dairies, bakeries, confectionaries, all types of food shops.

Cold storage and warehousing services

  1. Public Transport, airplanes, trains, taxis, autos and public buses.
  2. Pre-monsoon activities by local authorities.
  3. Reserved bank of India and services designated RBI as essential

10. All SEBI recognised market infrastructure such as Stock Exchanges, depositories, clearing corporations, etc.

Services required for restoration / maintenance of telecom services.

Transport of Goods

Water supply Services

E-commerce – Only for supply of essential goods and services

Accredited Media

Petrol pumps, petroleum products, All cargo services, Data centers, Cloud services / IT services supporting critical infra and services

Government and private security services

Electric and gas supply services

ATM’s, Postal services, ports and related activities.

Public transport will be fully operational with following restrictions :

Autorickshaw – Drivers + 2 passengers only

Taxi – 4 wheelers – Driver + 50 % capacity as per RTO

Bus – Full seating capacity as per RTO passing, No standing passengers will be allowed.

All persons using public transport to wear mask compulsorily or face fine of Rs 500.

Restaurants, Bars and Hotels :
All restaurants and bars to remain closed for in-dining, except for those inside the campus.

Only home delivery allowed

All personnel belonging to home delivery services should be vaccinated.

Roadside Eatable Vendors : No serving of food for eating at the location is allowed. Parcels and home deliveries are allowed from 7 am to 8 pm on everyday.

Recreational / Entertainment Centers :
Cinema halls, drama theatres, arcades, amusement parks, water parks, video game parlours, clubs, swimming pools, gyms, sport complexes, to remain closed.

Barber Shops / Spa / Salon / Beauty Parlours to remain closed

Schools and Colleges to remain closed.

Rule is hereby relaxed for Std X and XII to the extent of exams.

All private coaching classes of any kind to remain closed.

Marriages will be allowed only with maximum of 25 people present. All the staff at any marriage hall or at any location serving visitors shave to be vaccinated or carry negative RTPCR / RAT / TruNAT / CBNAAT report.

Any co-operative Housing society having one more than 5 active Corona positive cases will be treated as an micro containment zone. All CHS’s are advised to ensure that all persons coming to the building on a regular basis get their carry negative RTPCR / RAT / TruNAT / CBNAAT report.
