In a proactive move against unauthorized plot advertisements, MahaRera has taken significant steps since last year, intensifying its efforts by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The recent agreement signed with the Advertising Standard Council of India marks a pivotal moment in this campaign.

Ajay Mehta, President of MahaRera, highlighted the organization’s collaboration with experts and self-regulatory bodies to prevent the dissemination of misleading advertisements. Mehta expressed confidence that these measures would effectively curb fraudulent promotions.

Under the Immovable Property Act, any project exceeding 500 square meters or comprising more than 8 flats must register with MahaRera. Failure to obtain registration prohibits plot owners from advertising their properties, emphasizing the significance of MahaRera’s oversight.

Investors are encouraged to seek properties with MahaRera registration numbers, assuring a secure investment. This initiative aims to instill confidence in property transactions, mitigating the risks associated with fraudulent schemes.

Furthermore, MahaRera has partnered with the Standard Council of India, extending its reach to online platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram. Leveraging AI technology, this collaboration will identify and assess advertisements lacking registration numbers and QR codes, enhancing consumer protection.

Ultimately, this initiative serves to safeguard the public from scams while promoting transparency and trust in the real estate market. MahaRera’s dedication to ensuring hassle-free investments underscores its commitment to consumer safety and confidence.
