Mahatma Phule auditorium needs immediate repair

East Pune’s first state of the art Mahatma Phule auditorium in Wanowrie is lying in dilapidated condition for the last few months. Despite raising the issue with the local representatives, there has been no improvement.

Due to lack of adequate water supply, the washrooms in the building are stinking, the back gate of the auditorium is lying broken, the internal halls are also not well maintained, there are drunkards partying in the basement, the sewage chambers are broken as well as some are missing.
Despite raising the issue with the local representatives the matter remains unresolved.

Rajesh Shingade, manager, Mahatma Phule Sanskrutik Bhavan said, “The work for replacing the name boards, installing new gates is informed to the concerned officer several times. Written as well as oral communication to the concerned department has been done to the electricity, bhavan dept already. Some infrastructure work needs to go via a tendering process, hence the delay.”
