Man Orders Rs 39,990 Camera on Amazon, Receives Empty Box Instead
In a major delivery blunder, an Amazon customer was left frustrated after ordering a high-end GoPro camera worth Rs 39,990, only to receive an empty package. The incident has sparked concerns over e-commerce security and delivery authenticity.
In Viral Post The customer, identified as Shubham 2.0 on X (formerly Twitter), had placed an order for three items a GoPro Hero 13 Special Bundle (Rs 39,990), a Syvro S11 tripod (Rs 999), and Telesen ND Filters (Rs 2,812) bringing the total to Rs 43,801. However, upon receiving the package from the security guard at his residential society, he discovered that the camera was missing.
“I immediately contacted Amazon customer service to report the missing item,” he stated. However, to his dismay, he was informed that the product was marked as delivered, leaving him with no resolution.
Shubham also raised concerns about the packaging, claiming it appeared tampered with. “The parcel label mentioned a weight of 1.28 kg, but the package I received weighed only 650 grams. The GoPro was clearly missing,” he alleged.
Taking to social media, he tagged Amazon, urging them to investigate the matter. His post gained traction, with several users advising caution when ordering expensive products online. Some suggested opting for open-box delivery, while others recommended recording unboxing videos as proof in case of disputes.
A few users shared similar experiences, with one stating, “I once ordered a robot vacuum but received two pillows instead. Fortunately, I recorded the unboxing and was able to get a refund.”
The incident highlights growing concerns about missing or tampered deliveries, especially for high-value items. Amazon has yet to officially respond to the complaint.
