The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has intensified its property tax recovery efforts, revealing that 438 government-owned properties have pending dues amounting to ₹142 crore. Among these, 59 Union government properties owe ₹41.37 crore, 287 state government properties owe ₹93.24 crore, and 92 Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) properties have dues totaling ₹7.7 crore.

In a recent announcement, the PMC disclosed a list of the top 100 property tax defaulters, with total outstanding dues reaching ₹334.1 crore. The civic body has warned that properties with unpaid taxes may face strict actions, including sealing and disconnection of water supply.

PMC has registered 14.8 lakh properties, of which 9,29,771 have cleared their dues, contributing ₹2005.53 crore. Efforts to recover dues from the remaining defaulters are underway. Over the past 54 days, the recovery squad has visited 25 defaulters, recovering ₹186.54 crore. So far, 150 properties have been sealed, water supply to 20 properties has been cut, and ten new teams have been deployed to enforce further disconnections.

Some private defaulters, including real estate developers, educational institutions, and companies, have sought legal intervention to delay payments.
