In a swift operation, Hadapsar Police successfully rescued a kidnapped man within 12 hours and arrested three suspects involved in the crime. The incident came to light when the victim’s wife reported the kidnapping to Pune’s control room, stating that a group of individuals had forcibly abducted her husband from their residence.

Upon receiving the call, Hadapsar police immediately dispatched a marshal to the scene, confirming the abduction, though the suspects had already fled. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Circle 5, Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and other senior officers visited the location to gather further information.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s son was previously in a relationship with a girl from Wagholi, which her family opposed. On February 3, 2025, after the girl went missing, her family confronted the victim’s family, leading to a heated argument. Later that day, the girl’s brother, along with three unidentified men, abducted the victim using two motorcycles.

An FIR was registered at Hadapsar Police Station under IPC sections 140(3), 352, 351(2), and 3(5). Acting on the seriousness of the case, DCP Dr. Rajkumar Shinde guided the investigation, with Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mogle overseeing the operation. Two special teams, led by Assistant Police Inspectors Arjun Kudale and Mahesh Kawale, were deployed.

The investigation team received intelligence that the suspects were moving across Wagholi, Kesnand, and Wade Bolhai. Despite the suspects frequently changing locations, the police traced them to Barshi and Solapur. The breakthrough came when the team intercepted the accused at Patas Toll Naka, safely rescuing the victim.

The arrested individuals were identified as Abhijit Dattatray Bhosale (22) from Waghmare Vasti, Wagholi; Ranjit Ramesh Dikol (21) from Ladooba Vasti, Wadebolhai Road, Kesnand; and Maruti Ashok Gaikwad (23) from Wadegaon, Bolai Mata Mandir, Kesnand. The police also seized the motorcycles used in the crime. One accomplice remains at large.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Eastern Region) Manoj Patil, DCP Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Hadapsar Division) Anuradha Udmale. Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mogle and Crime Inspector Nilesh Jagdale supervised the investigation. The case is currently being handled by Assistant Police Inspector Hasina Shikalgar.

The police team, including Assistant Inspectors Arjun Kudale and Mahesh Kawale, Sub-Inspector Raghavendra Salgar, and officers Sandeep Rathod, Ajit Madane, Kundalik Keskar, Prashant Dudhal, Nikhil Pawar, and Amol Jadhav, has been commended for their prompt and effective action.
