Pune: The Suzuki Swift’s next-generation concept was recently unveiled by Japanese automaker Suzuki at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. This concept model, which was showcased, appears to be production-ready and is expected to be available for sale worldwide shortly. Before its official debut, the new Swift has been spotted undergoing testing on Indian roads, indicating that the vehicle’s launch is imminent.

Based on the provided information, the test mules were completely concealed with camouflage. However, the overall appearance, shape, rear lights, and bumper design bear a striking resemblance to the Suzuki Swift concept that was revealed at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. In terms of its design, the updated Swift features a revamped front bumper and a fresh grille adorned with bold black accents. Additionally, it showcases redesigned smoked LED headlights that are equipped with daytime running lights (DRLs). Below, the vehicle displays a modified fog lamp housing accompanied by a splitter.

The bonnet now proudly displays the Suzuki logo, accompanied by a fresh design of dual-tone alloy wheels. Notable enhancements also include blacked-out ORVMs, roofs, and pillars. The door panels are adorned with prominent character lines, adding to its appeal. Moving towards the rear, a redesigned tailgate and a new bumper with a skid plate below are featured. Additionally, it boasts an integrated rear spoiler with a stop lamp, LED taillights with C-shaped DRLs, and reflectors below, further enhancing its overall aesthetics.

The new Swift’s interior design draws inspiration from the Baleno, Fronx, and Brezza SUVs. Its dashboard layout has been revamped, featuring a floating infotainment system accompanied by stylish AC vents and HVAC controls below. Additionally, anticipated features consist of wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate controls, and various other convenient amenities.

No details have been provided about the powertrain and gearbox. It is speculated that the international spec-Swift could offer various powertrain options, such as a robust hybrid and a turbo petrol engine. According to hearsay, the upcoming Swift model is anticipated to feature a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine coupled with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. This new engine, known as Z12, will replace the current 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder K-series petrol engine.
