In a strategic move that could potentially challenge the dominance of the Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the 2024 Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2024 (IIMS).

This MPV not only introduces a fresh, sporty aesthetic but also incorporates a new mild-hybrid petrol engine, signalling a significant evolution in the Ertiga lineup.

The 2024 Ertiga Cruise Hybrid boasts eye-catching cosmetic enhancements, featuring new LED DRLs, chrome embellishments on both front and rear bumpers, side body decals, a sleek short antenna, an upper roof spoiler, and stylish dual-tone alloy wheels. With exterior colour options like Pearl White with Cool Black and a monotone Cool Black, the Ertiga Cruise aims for a dynamic visual impact.

Under the hood, the Ertiga Cruise Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre K15B Smart Hybrid petrol engine, distinguished from the India-spec Ertiga by its K15C counterpart. The upgraded engine is equipped with a larger 10 Ah battery pack to support the mild-hybrid system, contributing to enhanced fuel efficiency.

With a claimed mileage of slightly over 20 kmpl in Indonesia, the model maintains its performance with 103 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque, available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

The 2024 Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid not only promises a thrilling drive but also integrates a black and grey colour scheme, cruise control, ventilated cupholders, auto climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, among other features. Suzuki Indonesia is confident in the mild-hybrid version, offering an impressive 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.

With a starting price of 288 million Indonesian Rupiah (approximately Rs 15.3 lakh) for the manual variant and 301 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs 16 lakh) for the automatic, the Ertiga Cruise Hybrid sets an ambitious tone. While it is currently slated for the Indonesian market, the real question looms: when will Maruti Suzuki introduce this game-changing variant to Indian roads, potentially reshaping the landscape of MPVs in the country?
