Several residents are awaiting the road work from Mohammadwadi Chowk to Handewadi, which is pending since past several months from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ashish Gupta, Resident of Nyati Enclave, Mohammadwadi, said “The road work has been stalled as no progress can be seen about it. Due to such halfway stalled work, there are many possibilities of road accidents, several potholes are there and more. There is no place to walk. Pedestrians have to walk on the kutchha road. One side of the road has been dug up due to which only a narrow portion is left. No progress is there of the road work. Don’t know why the road work is stalled.”

Deepa Cheema of Mohammadwadi-Undri Residents Forum, said “The road is under repairs, widening & construction. However, only digging is done. By now, the refilling work should have started. A week back, only the digging part was done & it was left as it is. This has become very inconvenient for pedestrians. We are not aware of the completion date of the work as such. However, we expect the work to be completely done in one month.”

The road widening work has started from Delhi Public School to Nyati Enclave entrance gate. PMC is yet to carry out resurfacing as well as removal of debris.

Pune Pulse contacted PMC officials but couldn’t connect while reporting.
