Massive Fire Erupts in Mumbai Shopping Mall: 3 Firefighters Injured, 14 Shoppers Rescued

Three firemen were injured and at least 14 persons rescued after a massive fire broke out at the Heera Panna shopping mall in Oshiwara of Andheri West area of Mumbai suburb on Friday.The Mumbai Fire Brigade deployed a high pressure first-aid line and five small hose lines to fight the conflagration.

As many as 14 persons stranded on the terrace and other places were rescued with Angus ladders or through staircases.Three firemen from Goregaon Fire Brigade battling the blaze were injured and they were rushed to the Trauma Care Centre Hospital in ambulances.They are Sandip M. Patil, Raju U. Shingankar and Yogesh Kondawar, and their condition is stated to be stable.The cause of the fire, suspected to be a short-circuit, is being probed and fire-fighting operations are continuing.
