Massive Fire Erupts in Pimpri Chinchwad Company; No Casualties or Injuries Reported

On 14th September, a huge fire engulfed a godown in Chinchwade Industrial Estate. Fire department has successfully doused the fire.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, the company owner, requesting anonymity, stated that the fire erupted at 9:30 pm on Thursday (14th September) inside the godown of the company. Fortunately, nobody was there so no one was harmed.

As per further information from Rushikant Chipade, Chief Fire Officer, PCMC Fire Department, the main fire station, Pimpri got the information of a fire erupting at a company at Kate Mala, Chinchwade Nagar, Walhekar Wadi at 10:29 pm. Accordingly, the vehicles of the main fire station immediately reached the spot.

These were followed by fire vehicles of Pimpri Fire Station, Rahatni Fire Station, Thergaon Fire Station, Chikhli Fire Station, Bhosari Fire Station, Talwade Fire Station, Bajaj Auto Akurdi, MIDC Hinjewadi Phase-1, PMRDAI Marunji, Tata Motors etc. All the fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire by pouring water on the godown.

Also, with the help of JCB, the fire was completely extinguished by removing the material from the godown and cooling it.

Automobile spare parts, iron material, plastic material, rubber, wooden rack, computer, laptop, printer, electric wires, board letters etc of the company have been burnt in the said godown. The entire loss taking place is approximately Rs 1 Crore.

The total number of personnel there was 45 personnel from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and approximately 20 personnel from other fire stations.
