The construction of a building in Aundh government hospital by the social welfare department of the Pune Zilla Parishad is happening without any approved plan, alleged Chinchwad MLA Laxman Jagtap. He stated that the work of constructing the building of District Disabled Rehabilitation Centre within the premises of Aundh Uro District Hospital is in progress.
Japtap alleged that the speed at which the tender process happened and the work was started has raised doubts about the necessary permits. He said that the permits and plans have not been approved.

Jagtap in his letter to the collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh stated, “The social welfare department has allocated Rs 3.5 crores for the ambitious project of the Zilla Parishad which has been given to its construction department. This project is to empower the disabled in the Pune district.

From this fund, through the Social Welfare Department of the Zilla Parishad, the construction of the District Disabled Rehabilitation Center has been started on a 400-square meters area in the premises of Aundh Uro District Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad city limits.

Even though the plan of the District Differently abled Rehabilitation Center building has not been approved by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the work is going on. Shockingly, illegal connection of electricity and water has been taken for this.”

The letter went on to state that the construction of the building is going on in an arbitrary manner without permission. “Also, the land on which the construction is to be done is not in the name of Zilla Parishad. The financial collusion of the authorities concerned and the contractor is seen in these works. Even though the plan of the building is not approved, the work has been started by taking tenders in haste, and doubts have been raised about the working capacity of the Zilla Parishad,” the letter said.

Jagtap also alleges that the then guardian minister was misguided and the ground-breaking ceremony of the planned building of the centre was done. In all these cases, the functioning of the construction department of the Zilla Parishad and the negligence and laxity of the officials should be investigated, he said. After investigation, action should be taken against the culprits as per government rules, he added.
