A playful scare tactic turns into an unexpected lesson, sparking laughter and debate online.

A light–hearted but impactful video is going viral after a mother used an unusual idea to stop her young daughter from demanding a mobile phone. The clip, shared by the Instagram page crazy___aditi___, shows how a simple prank turned into a surprisingly effective lesson.

The mother reportedly applied black ‘Kajal’ around the girl’s eyes. When the child woke up and saw her reflection, she panicked and started crying, believing something had happened to her face. The mother then calmly explained that this was the result of using a mobile phone for too long, and that reducing screen time would make her face “normal” again. Frightened but convinced, the girl promised not to insist on a phone anymore.

The video has triggered widespread laughter, with many viewers calling the trick “crazy but creative.” At the same time, it has also sparked conversations about how challenging mobile addiction among children has become.

Under the reel, the top comments reflected a mix of humour and concern. One user wrote, “This childhood trauma is more dangerous than mobile,” while another said, “Maa-baap ko bhi dekhna chahiye, unka bhi angle badalna padega.” Others reacted playfully, saying the mother’s method was actually a “bahut accha tarika” to explain things to children. Another user added a relatable note, sharing how their own child refuses medicine, insists on mobile time, and throws tantrums.

The video continues to trend across platforms as parents debate whether creative hacks like this work better than scolding or screen restrictions.
