MSEDCL crackdown on power supply complaints; redresses two lakh complaints within ten days

Pune: According to the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL Lokesh Chandra has instructed the officials of the company to redress the grievances of power supply on priority.

As per information, after that, the officers and employees of the company redressed two lakh old and new pending complaints in just ten days. Along with this, one lakh 42 thousand complaints regarding bills were also redressed in just ten days.

After taking over as Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL, Lokesh Chandra has instructed the officers and employees of the company to provide services considering the electricity consumers as the focal point. On June 20, customer complaints were reviewed and he gave a clear order to resolve the grievances of power supply on priority.

Chandra also asked the employees and officers to work keeping in mind that the complaints of power supply interruption may increase during rainy weather. After that, the officers and employees of the company tried on a war footing and redressed two lakh complaints of power supply shutdown in ten days.

MSEDCL resolved customer grievances by implementing special initiatives. In the last ten days, 1,38,072 newly filed complaints of power outages were redressed. Also, 67,000 previous pending complaints were solved. While redressal of the complaints of power supply shutdown, it is emphasized that these complaints should be resolved at the earliest i.e. within the time limit set by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission.

A total of 1,42,600 complaints regarding bills were resolved within ten days. Out of which 1,10,920 complaints were resolved before June 20. Along with that 31,687 complaints after June 20 were also resolved. This includes the redressal of 43,460 complaints of bill correction.

As per the instructions of the Chairman, the complaints of electricity consumers across the state and the measures taken are being regularly reviewed at the headquarters of MSEDCL. Senior officers of the company are monitoring this.
