MSEDCL Extends Deadline For ‘Abhay Yojana 2024’ To December 31, Offering Relief To Power Defaulters

Mumbai, December 2, 2024: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has extended the deadline for the “Abhay Yojana 2024” till December 31, 2024. This scheme, aimed at domestic, commercial, and industrial electricity consumers whose power connections were permanently disconnected due to unpaid bills, offers a waiver on interest and late payment fees.
Consumers can pay 30% of the outstanding bill upfront and settle the remaining 70% in six installments. One-time bill payments also receive discounts: 10% for low-voltage users and 5% for high-voltage industrial/commercial users.
As of now, 65,445 consumers have benefitted, leading to ₹86 crores in payments, with ₹44.35 crores in waived interest and late fees. Consumers can apply online via the MSEDCL website or mobile app.
