Muktai Memorial and SAKEM Shine On Day 1 Of Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter-School Hockey 2024 In Pune 

Pune, 29 November 2024: Muktai Memorial School and Shree Anantrao Kulkarni English Medium School (SAKEM), Narayangaon had a field day winning two matches and took top spot in Pool-C and Pool-B respectively, while in Pool-D, St.Vincent’s H.S with one win and one draw occupied the top spot on the opening day of the Under-14 Boys section in the Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024 at the Maj Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri on Friday.

Meanwhile, Anantrao Kulkarni Shree Anantrao Kulkarni English Medium School (SAKEM), Narayangaon at day’s end logged their second win on a day that saw 5 wins logged in the 8 matches played.

The tournament is being organised by Loyola High School along with ELAN (Ex-Loyola Alumni Network) and under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra for school children for the fifth year in succession.

In Pool-C, Muktai Memorial School logged a 1-0 win over Janta H.S after Shlok Kalbhor(16th) netted the winner, later they downed Anand Vidyniketan School 1-0 after a strike by Mandeep Dhale (25^th) turned winner.

During the day, St Vincent’s drew their Pool-D opener with Ramchandra Gaikwad H.S 0-0 and returned late evening to down MCES, Pune 1-0 with Ashton Kale (14th)turning hero.

Later, Anantrao Kulkarni Shree Anantrao Kulkarni English Medium School (SAKEM), Narayangaon got off to their Pool-B campaign shocking New Millenium English 2-1.A brace byChaitanya Pate (1^st, 22^nd) helped the Narayangaon team’s scoreline, while Kartik Kamble (49^th) reduced the margin for the losers.

In the last match, SAKEM, Narayangaon downed Lokmanya Tilak 4-0 for their second win. A brace by Shlok Sahane (29^th, 44^th)  and Sreya Sahane (44^th, 59^th) helped SAKEM, Narayangaon.
