Recent performance by Yo Yo Honey Singh in Mumbai on March 28, 2026, held at the MMRDA Grounds, has been widely discussed online after multiple fan videos from the event went viral across social media platforms. While most clips showcased the energetic crowd enjoying the concert, one particular video sparked major attention and debate involving a female attendee named Roohi.

The viral footage showed Roohi, who had a valid ticket, attempting to enter the venue by climbing over a gate after being denied or delayed entry. The situation quickly escalated online, leading to widespread discussion and mixed reactions from viewers.

Responding to the controversy, Roohi later shared a detailed clarification on Instagram, where she first expressed regret over her actions at the event. She explained that the incident occurred in a moment of distress while waiting in a long queue. According to her, she had been waiting for nearly 40–50 minutes despite having a valid ticket, and she suffers from anxiety and claustrophobia, which made the crowded situation overwhelming for her.

She also mentioned that others ahead of her had attempted similar actions by climbing the gate. In that moment, she assumed the situation might ease if she did the same. She said, “I climbed, thinking that being a girl, if I climbed up, they would open the gates, and actually they did. After two minutes, they opened the gate for all of us.”

Roohi further acknowledged that her actions were wrong and offered an apology to the authorities for her behaviour, stating that it was a reaction driven by panic and pressure at the venue.

However, she strongly objected to the way the incident was later shared online. She said that the video spread widely across the internet and included footage where her private body was unintentionally exposed without her consent, which she described as a serious violation. She stated, “The video was recorded. It was circulated all over the internet, where my private body was unintentionally exposed without my consent. And that is a crime.”

She also revealed that she had approached Instagram and cybercrime authorities regarding the matter, but claimed that no effective action was taken. Expressing her frustration, she said she felt helpless and believed that content removal is often difficult unless one has influence or power. She also shared that the online backlash and hateful comments left her emotionally overwhelmed and deeply hurt.

Commenting further on the incident, she said, “And I honestly feel this must have happened to so many of us, wherein some sort of content is posted online, which we do not want, but there is no such way to take it down unless you know you are a powerful man. I felt helpless in this situation. Seeing the hate in the comments, it was really overwhelming for me. It was honestly heartbreaking because I’ve never been in that situation,”

Adding another layer to the conversation, Roohi spoke about Yo Yo Honey Singh referring to her as “Sherni” on social media. She said this gesture brought her some relief during an otherwise difficult time. “When Honey Singh himself posted the story saying, Sherni fan of mine, I felt a little relieved that, okay, there are people looking at it in a decent way who are actually supporting me. Most of all, my own family supported me to make this video, that you should go out there and tell people the right story. And I’m grateful for that.”

She also emphasized the importance of consent in both offline and online spaces, urging stricter rules and faster action from social media platforms when such content is shared without permission. She appealed for stronger enforcement so that violating content can be removed immediately.
