Mumbai Police Received a Call Regarding a Bomb on Plane From a Bedridden Child

On Thursday (24th August), a bomb hoax call was received on the Mumbai police’s helpline.

The caller was identified as a 10-year old boy who is afflicted with a physical disability and is bedridden. He is a fan of crime shows.

According to the police, the caller told the helpline’s attendant that a bomb had been placed on a plane scheduled to take-off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in 10 hours.

Police traced the call to Satara, where a 10-year-old boy with special needs, who is confined to his bed, made the call. Police informed the child’s parents and asked them to ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

The investigation has indicated that the boy is an avid viewer of crime-related television programs. Due to his disability and the fact that he is bedridden, he has been utilizing his father’s telephone to make phone calls.
