Mumbai–Pune Expressway Missing Link Gets New Traffic Rules; Heavy Vehicles Barred
Pune/Mumbai, May 5, 2026: Authorities have issued a fresh traffic advisory for commuters using the ‘Connecting Link’ or Missing Link on the Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai Pune Expressway to ensure safer and smoother travel.
The advisory clearly outlines the categories of vehicles permitted on this newly developed stretch. According to officials, only light motor vehicles such as cars and passenger buses are allowed to use the route.

In contrast, heavy vehicles have been completely restricted from entering the Missing Link. This includes trucks, multi-axle vehicles, trailers, and those transporting hazardous or inflammable materials.
The restrictions have been put in place considering the design and safety requirements of the high-speed corridor. Authorities believe limiting access will reduce the risk of accidents and improve traffic flow.
Officials have emphasised that strict compliance with these rules is necessary to maintain discipline on the expressway. Regular monitoring is also expected to ensure that violations are minimised.
Motorists have been urged to follow the guidelines and cooperate with authorities to make travel on the Missing Link stretch safe, efficient, and hassle-free.
