Traveling on Mumbai-Pune expressway? Know ‘this’ decision of police to avoid traffic jams

Pune: A two-hour block will be observed  on Mumbai-Pune expressway today 5th December in Khandala area.

The traffic block will be held between 12 noon and 2 PM. 

As per reports, the block will be held on every Tuesday and Thursday till December 21, 2023.   

The expressway authorities are undertaking Gantry installation work at km 50/000 and km 47/120 in Khandala area under ITMS project. Hence the block will be observed. Therefore, all traffic on the Mumbai channel will be completely stopped during this time.

The administration has informed that heavy vehicles will be stopped at the Urse Toll Gate, while from km 55 Lonavala exit for cars only, traffic will continue towards Mumbai side via Old Pune Mumbai Highway – Anda Point.

Citizens traveling on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway should take a note of this. As it is the second day of the week, there is a heavy rush of vehicles on the expressway. Meanwhile, as there is a two-hour block on Tuesday, passengers going to Mumbai should plan their journey by looking at the block times.

For the past few days, blocks are being taken to install gantries on the highway. Due to this, passengers and citizens have to suffer. Due to this block, there will be congestion of vehicles on the highway during the afternoon.

Those traveling from Pune to Mumbai must leave early in the morning, it would be beneficial to take the route towards Mumbai before the block starts.
